HISTORY, ART, ARCHITECTURE / ASOLO
The heart of romantic and poetical visions
Asolo should definitely be considered one of the most fascinating centres of the Marca Trevigiana, in which elements from the agricultural culture still exist, mixed with art and architecture. In particular, during the summer period, walking through its small streets that intertwine among the hills, dominated by the Rocca, and admiring the magnificent Patrician buildings (such as the Castle of Queen Cornaro), it is possible to become inebriated by the perfumes of the surrounding countryside: freshly cut grass in the fields, the flowers in the gardens, the fruit trees in blossom.
Due to the emotions that this small hilly village stimulates in its visitors, Asolo was (and is still) a source of inspiration for painters, musicians, artists in general from all over the world: Robert Browning, Eleonora Duse, Freja Stark…
