The Veneto area is full of proto-industrial architectural forms providing proof of how the importance of work lies within the heart and culture of its inhabitants. In particular, the Province of Treviso is not only full of water plants for several uses, such as paper mills, fabric mills, mallets and grain mills, but also ancient furnaces.
