Among the greenery and the sweet hills, dedicated to the production of Prosecco, the medieval centre of Conegliano intertwines along Via XX Settembre, overlooked by several buildings with wonderful decorated facades. A visit to the Dome is definitely worthwhile to admire the frescos by Pozzesserato and a painting by Palma Il Giovane. The centre is dominated by the Castle, rooted onto the hill.
Of the ancient buildings, Torre della Campana, the current location of the Museum with paintings by Palma Il Giovane and Pordenone has resisted the unrelenting course of history. In June the Dama Castellana folklore is held in the square in front of the tower, a draughts game in which the pawns are represented by women dressed with historical garments.
