TREVISO AND THE CITY CENTRE / ALONG THE STREETS

Among buildings, towers and churches to discover the history of Treviso

Walking is the best way to visit the town centre. Wandering along its streets and alleys will allow you to plunge into the artistic-architectural history of the city; you can therefore capture every small detail that characterises the facades of the ancient Patrician buildings.

The elegant ornamented porticoes, the barbicans that support the roofs of the buildings with the need for columns and the walls painted with false tapestries are just some of the elements that characterise the medieval Treviso. Along your path, you will also come across small and romantic Treviso squares: Piazza Duomo, Piazza Rinaldi (the ancient location of the fruit market), Piazza dei Signori (the place in which the Fourteenth century Board that governed the city met up in 1300).
