TREVISO AND THE CITY CENTRE / FROM ONE CHURCH TO ANOTHER

Not only religion but areas that hold works by unique artists from the past

There are many churches that you will come across, along your walk through the centre of Treviso, full of treasures. Among them, the ones not to be missed are: the Dome with the Chapel of the Holy Sacrament, by Antonio Lombardo, with Bregno sculptures, the Paleo Christian crypt and the Annunziata Chapel. Inside them you can admire the Titian altar piece representing the “Annunciation” and the fresco composition of Pordenone.

A short distance away from the Dome you will find the San Nicolò church, with the pictorial cycles of Lorenzo Lotto and Tomaso da Modena. The latter dealt with decoration of other parishes in the city centre, including San Francesco, Santa Lucia and Santa Maria Maggiore, still preserving works by Cima da Conegliano and Pozzoserrato.
