THE LAMON BEAN
The Lamon beans I.G.P are produced in the area of Belluno. They include four kinds: Spagnol, egg-shaped; Spagnolet, smaller than the previous one; Calonega, the largest one of all and Canalino, rather aromatic. The Lamon beans are red coloured borlotto beans from the borlotto of Vigevano.
For centuries they fed the poor classes, these beans have now been rediscovered as an important dish and ingredient of a balanced diet. Tasty salads, soups and creams to accompany fish can be made with these beans, but in particular the famous and typical Venetian dish, Pasta e Fasioi.
